Meet Jayne Barocela
Founder of Relic Trailers, Jayne Barocela has spent almost 20 years restoring vintage campers and building handcrafted fiberglass trailers in Washington State. Her passion for timeless design, quality craftsmanship, and personalized customer service has shaped Relic into a boutique company dedicated to creating trailers that are as beautiful as they are functional. Every trailer is thoughtfully built with the belief that quality should never go out of style.
How It Started
In the early 1960s, a welder named Roy began designing a mid-century dream trailer. The manufacturing process had started but was abandoned in a warehouse in Michigan. Only parts had been assembled, and none were ever completed. In 2015, after decades of restoring and rehabilitating vintage trailers, Jayne discovered the opportunity to bring Roy's designs into the modern era. She transferred the entire warehouse from Michigan to the Pacific Northwest, where the outdoors are loved and lived in every day — and the Relic was born!
Where We Started
For years, Relic Trailers was a well-known presence on South Tacoma Way, where Jayne built a reputation throughout the region for her custom trailer builds, vintage craftsmanship, and one-of-a-kind design work. It was there that the Relic trailer found its community — people who valued quality, individuality, and a deep appreciation for the classics.
Where We Are Today
Today, Relic Trailers operates from a new location in Tacoma's beloved Proctor District. Rather than a traditional showroom, this is a dedicated consultation studio. An intimate, appointment-only space where Jayne sits down with every client to design their build, explore options, and bring their vision to life. Every visit is personal, focused, and unhurried.
